8 Weeks

Nolan continues to get bigger by the day and has started making lots of new cooing sounds. He had his first "day trip" to the Superstition Mountains last Friday and seemed to enjoy watching the light and scenery out his window. We took along Lana and had our hands full trying to keep her in the back of our new vehicle. Traveling with a baby and a dog will certainly be interesting!

After some wondering about Nolan's fussing during breastfeeding, we visited the pediatrician last week and found out that he has an allergy to something in my milk...most likely milk protein from dairy and soy products. So, I've cut those out (it's amazing how many products have milk protein in them!) and am now learning how to adapt my eating habits and doing without some of my favorite foods. I'm hopeful that with a few months of dairy-free eating I can gradually phase back in some of these foods in small amounts. Thankfully, Nolan continues to gain weight well!

7 Weeks Old!

Nolan somehow has already turned 7 weeks old today! He has been busy taking in the sights and sounds around him and loves to watch Aaron and I very closely. Around Mother's Day, he began smiling back at us with a big, wide grin. Quite the Mother's Day present! He is also becoming more interested in the toys that hang from the bars on his floor playmat and his bouncy seat, bating at them with both hands and watching them very intently. Nolan also loves his baths in the evenings and often tries to lick the warm water...getting out of the tub, however, is definitely not his favorite thing!

He has gotten to go on several outings including meeting my co-workers at the preschool, visiting Aaron at work, a Baby-and-Mommy yoga class, and a few restaurant and grocery store outings. He loves being out and about taking in everything! And I must admit, I love being out of the apartment for a little while!
